Why Most Partner Marketing Activities Fall And How To Avoid The Same Errors: Part Three

Welcome to the 3rd of this little series describing how to do SEO to have your affiliate marketing website work to make you cash.

Thus far we have decided how to put your website’s keywords into the pages of your site, having the site listed in business directories which are all over the internet, and how to employ social networking to create loads of links back to your affiliate marketing site. What we need to do now, in order to help the search engines take proper account of the site, is to plant links and keyword references to it in thousands of pages.

The most labour concentrated and time consuming area of the SEO job is article creation, and then getting that article published on blogs, in article banks and similar locations all across the internet where they will be discovered by the search engines readers, and the links and keywords registered which will boost your site’s ‘score’ for relevance. This is divisive because in some minds it is regarded as conning the system and I completely do not go along with this, AS LONG AS the piece is original material, the topic is relevant and there are no hidden keywords.

The piece can be about anything, it can recall personal tale, a take on a topic in regard to what your website is about, an instructional piece, a review of a product or whatever else. I myself attempt to average five hundred and fifty words, put it 2 links to my website bolted to my keywords, of which I aim to include both but at least one in each paragraph if I can. It is a paradox of SEO that you don’t cram your article full of keywords, but use them sparingly, and 1 link on each keyword in the complete article is a decent rule of thumb.

What should it look like? Well, this piece is me doing search engine optimisation for my business website however, not for my affiliate marketing website, and if you read it again you will notice my guidelines above are followed in it and if you click the link in the 2nd paragraph you can see in the News section a record of pieces that do enhance my fishing shop site.

When it is complete, the next chore to do the search engine optimisation is to rearrange the format so that when it is sent to in many different places, each one receives a unique version. To do that you ‘spin’ the article. Go through every line and take words that have synonyms. I’ll utilise the 1st line of this paragraph as an example:

That line now has 8 alternative sets of words which can be printed in any of 4608 combinations any and all of which will still make sense. What happens is that the publishing programs will pick 1 word from between each pair of tags and use that. Try to average 3 alternatives each, though do not overdo it, if there are only 2, leave it at that. And the little “|” sign comes from “shift+\” by the Z key. The search engines don’t enjoy finding 100′s of duplicate pieces and the keepers of the publishing destinations also only want unique versions, and so SEO needs this discipline.

For publishing, I myself employ a site called Unique Article Wizard but you pay to use this. You may prefer to try and find a free service or, for a tiny fee I will do it for you (email enquiries@osiriswebservices.co.uk) but very quickly you will build up a large supply of back-links to your site. However, it will take time, frequently a long while time, before it starts to work and proprel your affiliate marketing up the search engine table.
