When I Was A Raw Youth, I Discovered A Book That Ruined My Life

Joe Karbo ruined my life. You may find that a startling introduction to one of my missives which are generally positive and merry (I hope) and regular readers could say “hold on, do you not you refer to con men, fraudsters and criminals Jim Akin (of Swainston Hall, The Wynd, TS22 5QE in case of uncertainty in case of other Jim Akin’s) and his vile sibling John Akin, directors of Kalmindon Ltd?” And I do not actually, the mark that pairs left on my life was a bitter annoyance. No, if I had not come across Joe Karbo as a raw youth of about eighteen, I probably would not have entered the radar of the Brothers Grim and I’d still have the 3000 they conned out of me. Mind you, then I probably would never have come across and learned SEO which I adore, but hey ho.

No, Joe Karbo wrote a book entitled The Lazy Man’s Guide To Riches and I went through it and it gave me hope. The git! It was sold as a book about how to set up, run and maintain a mail order company, but before you got to that, Joe outlineda mind system he called Dyna/Psyc which was a way of training the subconscious to discover solutions to issues in a similar way to transcendental meditation, and was essentially the 1st self-help book I read. Much of the book is out of date these days in its original form, but the modern mail order evolution of it is to be found in affiliate marketing, which has a very close symbiosis with search engine optimisation and lo and behold, when I unearthed the book the other day, I realised I am still trying after all this time.

The problem I have in retrospect with old Joe, is that he put the notion in my brain that I might be far better off working for myself and owing a company rather than going down the company career route. This has made me to try many projects, most of which never got off the ground, but included things like bespoke greetings cards, Mongolian barbeque restaurant, internet takeaway restaurant ordering and my latest project, an affiliate marketing fishing shop.

I also probably wouldn’t have got involved in the Amway plan through which I came across a steady stream of self-help books and I adored them, I gained me so much about getting a positive mindset, self confidence and belief in myself. In fact, if I had not learned that, I probably would never have taken the jump to go into IT freelancing and greatly raising my income by using my skills to their best effect. Those skills are outdated for the UK market now, but they took me all over the United Kingdom as well as a fabulous happy year in Australia. My latest skills in SEO are very much current and, in my opinion, critical to anybody who has a website and wants it to be found if they expect to do business through it. Like my affiliate marketing for instance.

So, as you can see, Joe Karbo wrecked my life. Thanks fella, I am truly grateful in every way for what you did for me and I would not have amended a thing and never intend giving up.
