Do not spam sites. Robotic like posts are a huge turn off. No one likes spam. It is annoying and it takes away creditability from your business in the eyes of the consumer. People do not like getting automated messages or posts in their comments. Links that look like they do not have a “human” touch to them are not going to get looked at.

Always be professional and stick by your business philosophy on how you want to treat your audience. Things spread like a wild fire on the internet. You don’t want a poor case in judgment spoil your Social Media Marketing adventure. There are people who get enjoyment out of being cruel on the internet. Don’t let the “Trolls” get to you.

Don’t ignore your audience. Become familiar with the community you are connected with. The social culture of all the internet social media sites are different. They change regularly and it is important to participate (carefully) and relate to what is going on. Follow the trends on Twitter. Respond to messages in your inbox on Facebook. These are just two examples of how you can participate more.

If you are not ready or unfamiliar with any or many of the social media sites out there it is a good idea to take classes or research what they do. It is in your benefit to properly use these sites.
