There are many services that will host a blog and are very inexpensive. Hosting, for those that are new to the jargon simply means a junk of internet real estate where you will have your Blog located at. The companies that offer this type of service range dramatically in the amount of help they will extend to the new Internet Marketer so it is important to pick up the phone and ask lots of questions before you spend your money. Let them know you are not Internet Savvy and that you need help. Do You Own Your Name?

You will need to get what is called a Domain Name which is the address of your Blog. You will see names that are long and have all sorts of characters in them and most people struggle to use them due to misspelling. I recommend that you use your own name for your Blog and if it is not available try adding Inc. after it. When you are purchasing a Domain name get it with both the dot.com and dot.net ending. Tell the Internet Your Sticking Around!

When you purchase your Blog hosting and Domain name pay ahead for a minimum of two years. Google will view your Blog as one that is going to be around and you will rank higher in the search engines. Note: You can buy cheaper domain names when you don’t get the dot.com and the dot.net sites but again they don’t rank as well.
