2005 Films: Recalling The Year In Motion Pictures
2005 wasn’t a very powerful year for film making generally speaking worldwide, and also less so for Hollywood, however, there were some shining moments on the big screen.
“The Best of Youth” by Marco Tullio Giordana was made in Italy and shown there as a tv miniseries. Now you may get the DVD on Amazon or Netflix and get ready to hunker down simply because each disc is more than 3 hrs long, but it’s definitely worth the time for you to get to know one of the best 2005 films produced. It tells the storyline of two brothers who take different routes in life and the women they love, all with the setting of sixties radicalism and rioting.
“King Kong” by Peter Jackson is a flawed, extremely long work that’s still 1 of the very most awesome flicks ever shot and all because of the characterization of the ape by the actor who portrayed him (of course there’s an actor, but absolutely no monkey suit). This remake of the 1933 black and white classic is wonderful after the 1st dull hour. This particular 2005 features celebrities Jack Black and Naomi Watts.
“Batman Begins” was wonderful and stars Christian Bale. This film will be dark but very realistic. The Batman here is no superhero, just a guy on a quest. Really suspenseful and that made this among the 2005 flicks that you can’t fail to remember. This was also the prequel if you know of 2008′s “The Dark Knight”.
“Sin City” with Mickey Rourke is among the most aesthetically amazing 2005 flicks with its bigger than life film noir look and also comic book stylizations.
“A History of Violence” directed by David Cronenberg and starring Vigo Mortensen was bloody and vicious, but in addition suspenseful and full of shock twists.
“Wallace and Gromit – The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” was the greatest of the 2005 films to feature animation, and claymation at that. Despite the fact that suited to youngsters, the humor is ideal for older people at the same time. Very amusing.
“Kung Fu Hustle” directed and starring the funny and twisted Kwok Kuen Chan still ranks among the funniest and strangest 2005 films and is really worth leasing. This is the exact same director who brought us all the really amusing “Shaolin Soccer”.
“War of the Worlds” starring Tom Cruise was memorable for fantastic special effects but goes on too long. The end sequence is just plain unexciting. The 1st hour though is amazing and will certainly keep you on the side of your seat.
These are merely some of the best 2005 movies and you will surely have your most loved. Get the snacks prepared, time for motion picture night!
